The german company was founded in April 2018 by Dr. Oliver Prochnow and Alexander Pape. Due to the experience of the founders it can rely on more than 13 years of experience in the field of ultrafast, stable, robust and low noise femtosecond fiber laser systems.
Our company name represents exactly our philosophy:
The combination of light (finnish: VALO) and innovations – for femtosecond fiber laser technology.

Dr. Oliver Prochnow
Managing Director (CEO) and Co-Founder
Dr. Oliver Prochnow has more than 13 years of experience in the field of ultrafast fiber lasers and amplifiers. In 2009 he completed his PhD at the Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V. in the “Ultrafast Photonics Group”. During his PhD he built several types of ultrafast low noise fiber laser systems and amplifiers and investigated their noise characteristics.
From 2010 Oliver became the Director of Research and Development at Venteon Laser Technologies – A Laser Quantum Company.
In April 2018 he became CEO of VALO Innovations.
